The state of Andhra Pradesh covers around 275000 sq km. With the capital city of Hyderabad, the state has a population of 8.32 crore as on 1st of March, 2009.The state is embedded with 23 districts with 295 legislative Assembly seats making it one of the important states for election of the Parliament. The state is located in southern India, with Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and The Bay of Bengal along its boundaries.
The state of Andhra Pradesh was formed in the year 1953. Few Important cities of the state are Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Guntur, Eluru, Vishakhapatnam, etc. Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam are the two most important industrial cities of the state. Vishakhapatnam is famous for its ship yards and the ship building facilities and on the other hand Hyderabad forms one of the core cities for Computer Technology. The main languages of the local people of this state are Telugu and Urdu. In the ancient India this state was ruled by the rulers called the Nizams, thus Andhra Pradesh is also known as the land of the Nizams.
